AN EVENING with THE GENTLEMEN'S ANTI-TEMPERANCE LEAGUE
9PM DOORS | 9:30 PM SHOW | $10/ADVANCE, $12/DOOR
THE GENTLEMEN'S ANTI-TEMPERANCE LEAGUE draws on their influence from almost a century of American music, combining elegant composition, raucous enthusiasm, and virtuosic playing to provide the perfect ambiance for an incredible evening of musical craftsmanship.
TREESREACH blends elements of rock, folk, jazz, classical, and chamber pop to offer a melodic, textural, and dynamic musical journey to its listeners, both on stage and in the studio. The band independently released its debut album Some Night You Will Hear Me Crowing in January of 2018. Songs contained on the album have received diverse stylistic comparisons, from Fleet Foxes to Pink Floyd, from Dawes to Radiohead, from Simon and Garfunkel to Built to Spill. And treesreach brings that dynamic array of music to the stage with a show that has been described as “serene, smooth, and even explosive at times.”
SLEEPING JESUS' ailed move to New York and new love was just the existential dilemma Minnesota's Nick Elstad needed to give life to his indie dream pop project, Sleeping Jesus. 2016 saw the release of the Perennial EP, a hazy and sweet four song journey of young love and the beautiful foolishness that accompanies it. The now five piece group went from basement to the main stage at First Avenue in one short year, picked as one of the best new bands of Minneapolis in 2016.
THE HOST COUNTRY The Host Country’s genre experimentation puts them in a category of their own. Their music is a fusion of folk, rock, and blues; a mix of raw and vulnerable, all combined with hauntingly passionate chord shifts. Dual writing credits between Ty Wistrand & Diana Weishaar put forth versatile songs that are evocative, intimate, and full of soul. Tom Rue (bass) and Ethan Weishaar (drums) carry the bottom end, and they recently brought in Michael Lovan on guitar to complete the 5-piece. The group's musical storytelling and engaging live performances are not to be missed.
CHAD LEHR We have all been that guy or gal driving home alone at night when a song comes on, maybe we know it, maybe we don't, but in those 3:30-4:00 minutes, we feel safe. Safe in our pain, safe in our hope, safe in our understanding that things won't always be like this bad/good thus causing us to cherish that moment, and if we can't...we simply start the song over. Sometimes over and over again. Chad Lehr just want to be the song you want to play over and over again.
